River levels are forecast to rise on the River Brue tonight due to heavy rainfall. This Flood Warning has been issued because flooding is expected tomorrow morning, Sunday 18/02/2024, from 5 AM onwards.

Areas most at risk include roads in Catsham, Cowbridge and West Lydford, and the B3151 Glastonbury to Meare road. Properties on Dyehouse Lane, Glastonbury are at risk from the Glastonbury Millstream overtopping, and river overtopping at Baltonsborough is expected.

The forecast is predominantly dry for Sunday afternoon, however it may take several hours for river levels to start falling after the current band of rain moves out of the area. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels closely and staff have been checking rivers in the area for blockages.

Start acting on your flood plan if you have one and consider activating any property flood protection products you may have. Please do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water.

This message will be updated by 2:00 PM on Sunday 18/02/2024, or as the situation changes.
