Ali is part French, actually Cajun – migrants from French Canada in the 18th century. She grew up in her hometown, and matriculated from Cecilia High School, after which she enrolled at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and graduated with a degree in mass communication.
However, her diploma was never put to good use, as she had already started a career in modelling. In 1990 she won the Miss Louisiana Teen USA pageant, and six years later she was crowned as Miss Louisiana and represented the state in the Miss USA pageant, winning the title which only increased her net worth and her popularity as well. Ali represented the USA in the Miss Universe contest, however, she was eliminated at the judge questions stage.
After the pageant, Ali focused on modeling, and ended up covering the front pages of numerous magazines, including FHM and Stuff, which also added a lot to her net worth. Also, she was named multiple times in lists as one of the most beautiful women in the world.
Thanks to her popularity, Ali managed to launch an acting career; she made her debut in 1997 as an extra in “Sunset Beach”, and in the late 1990s she had several notable roles, including in the TV series “The Bold And The Beautiful” (1998), “Pensacola” (1998-2000), and made her film debut in “Prime Time Comedy”, also in 1998, increasing further her net worth.
With the new millennium, her name could often be heard in the Hollywood area, in such productions as “Beautiful” (2000), “Repli-Kate” (2002) as the lead role with James Roday and Desmond Askew, and in 2003 she was selected for the role of Rita Lefleur, in the TV series “Eve”, and stayed in the show until 2006. While on the show, Ali was largely unavailable for other projects, but in 2006 returned to big screen as Celia in the film “Bella”, adding further funds to her wealth. Six years later, Ali featured in the film “Me Again”, and most recently she starred in “Runway Hearts”, with John Schneider and Wendell Perce in lead roles, and “Little Boy” (2015), which only increased further her net worth.
Regarding her personal life, Ali has been married to film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde since 2006; the couple has three children. Previously, Ali was married to television host and actor Mario Lopez in 2004 for only two weeks; she discovered that he was unfaithful to her, and she had their marriage annulled.
